Los Prados is a 24hr gate guarded 55+ retirement community in the northwest area of Las Vegas.

Featuring nice views of the Spring Mountains and Mt. Charleston are just a couple of the nice things about Los Prados.  RV onsite ( year round ) storage is available inside the guard gated community.  Would you like live among non 55+ nonresidents too?  There are many smaller communities inside Los Prados, so this just might be the place for you. Oh, and did we say how affordable the homes are here in Los Prados too?

Los Prados began building in 1986 and was completed in 1998. Only resale homes are available in the community now.  Homes range from 1,083 to 3,300+ square feet ( in the Los Prados master community  ), with 2 to 4 bedrooms with 2 to 4 bathrooms with attached 1 car garages ( townhouses – attached duplex, triplex, four-plex plans) and 2 car garages ( single family ).

Los Prados is comprised of 21 Villages and only 4 are 55+ Active Adult Neighborhoods – Castle Bay Shores, Cedar Point, Colwood Place and Barrington Bay for a total of 1,358 homes. Colwood Place is a small 64 unit townhouse Village of duplex, tri-plex and four-plex homes. Colwood Place also has a private pool/spa area. The remainders of the villages in Los Prados are non 55+ communities.

There is a 24hr guard gate to the main community, but the 21 villages are not gated. There is also a RV lot in the community and sizes range from a 9’ x 18’ to a 11’ x 40” spaces. All parking is outdoors and uncovered, but the area is securely fenced and gated inside the community.

Los Prados residents can enjoy a clubhouse with a community director and several multi-purpose rooms for community activities and events. There is also a large gathering room where residents can relax and socialize with neighbors. Residents can also take advantage of the library and restaurant. There are two pools, one on each side of the clubhouse with views of the golf course. Note: the pools at the clubhouse are open to the entire Los Prados community and are NOT 55+ active adult community pools. There are also two tennis courts next to the clubhouse. Please note: There is NO gym at Los Prados. The community is nicely landscaped with mature trees, green grass and desert landscaping. There are plenty of sidewalks and trails for walking and biking throughout the community too.

The Los Prados Golf Course is owned and operated by the Los Prados Community Association. Beautiful views, great service, and a well maintained course have made it a local favorite. The 18 hole golf course was designed by architect Jeff Hardin and built in 1987. It plays to a par of 70, with yardage just under 6000. There are several golf courses also close by including Painted Desert Golf Club and three courses at Sun City Summerlin

Los Prados is just 35 minutes from the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area where you can enjoy dozens of great hikes of all levels of experience, a visitor center and a 13 mile scenic one way drive through the beautiful Red Rock Canyon. Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is just 3 miles down the road and was home to Howard Hughes at one point. This is also home to the Super Summer Outdoor Theater

The surrounding area of North West Las Vegas has had tremendous growth over the last decade and offers some of the newest homes and shopping centers in the Las Vegas area. Mt. Charleston recreation area (11,916 ft.) is only a 40 minute drive away and features temperatures 20 degrees cooler than the Las Vegas Valley floor in the Summer. So, head up there to cool off during those hot summer days or take a hike. Believe it or not, but you can snow ski there 4-5 months of the year at the Mt. Charleston Ski Resort.
